A lone farmer
I wrote this during my train journey between Bangalore and Bombay.
The tracks of a tractor,
No traces of water,
This is a trace of a farmer,
Wonder who is his benefactor.
Unwanted grass,
Overgrown weeds,
Trees with no leaves,
A women collecting sticks.
Fallen electric poles,
A broken down tractor,
A cow which can barely walk,
Now comes traces of some life.
Few roofless huts,
Children waving at us,
The land through which tractor cuts,
A Farmer who Feeds us.
The tracks of a tractor,
No traces of water,
This is a trace of a farmer,
Wonder who is his benefactor.
Unwanted grass,
Overgrown weeds,
Trees with no leaves,
A women collecting sticks.
Fallen electric poles,
A broken down tractor,
A cow which can barely walk,
Now comes traces of some life.
Few roofless huts,
Children waving at us,
The land through which tractor cuts,
A Farmer who Feeds us.
